Joon-Ho Yu received a B.A. in English at Carleton College and B.S. in Biology at San Francisco State University. After 10 years working in the field of minority health, Joon completed an MPH and PhD in public health genetics at the University of Washington. His dissertation research utilized his interdisciplinary training in genetic epidemiology, bioethics, and science studies to examine the use of genetic ancestry testing in genetic epidemiology research. Currently, he is a Senior Fellow in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Genetic Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine where he is developing and studying strategies to return genetic results from whole genome sequencing.
